1st Edition — BALEARIC FIRE DAY “Safe Hotels: Key Strategies for Fire Protection — Safety, Prevention and Response” Thursday, 8 October 2026, from 09:30 to 14:30 Hotels have particular fire-safety characteristics: high occupancy, guests who do not know the building, and round-the-clock activity. Their design must therefore cover multiple aspects that allow a fire to be prevented, detected and controlled while guaranteeing safe evacuation of occupants. This first Balearic Fire Day brings together institutions, technical associations and professionals from hospitality and fire protection (PCI) to discuss key strategies for safety, prevention and response. The programme combines institutional openings, a talk on integral design and two debate panels focused on passive protection, evacuation and active systems — including the emerging challenge of lithium-ion batteries in hotel environments.
