Twelve Square Metres of Skin

Six diverse perspectives on sexuality, blending autofiction and documentary theatre. Human skin is made of pores and wrinkles — of memories, pleasures and scars. Skin can be caressed, bitten and also read, like a photo album holding a past of conquests and defeats, desires and resistances. Six people take the stage. Three young. Three older. Though maybe the labels don’t matter. From a research lab, through a video camera, they try to answer questions that never quite settle: what is desire, how is pleasure built, where do identity and orientation begin, what lights and shadows shape how we love and inhabit the body, how does sexuality change with age… With the decades. How discourse changes. How the gaze changes. Each shares their story. Their skin. Their sense of humour. Their way of living sexuality. Human skin, stretched flat, covers about two square metres.
