Technical session: new trends in parking ventilation

The Official College of Industrial Engineering of the Balearic Islands (COEIB) hosts on Wednesday 21 October 2026, 17:00–19:00, the technical talk «New trends in parking ventilation: Standards UNE 100166 and UNE 23589», organised with SODECA. Speaker: Carme Gil, engineer in SODECA's Smoke Control Projects Department, chemical engineer specialised in fire protection and smoke control. Session content The talk covers design and calculation of parking ventilation systems, for both health and fire protection, under UNE 100166 and UNE 23589. It also looks at the impact of the draft Royal Decree amending the Technical Building Code (CTE) on ventilation in DB-SI: goals, scope, and the main differences from current criteria. A strong focus goes to impulse ventilation, increasingly used in these installations. The session also reviews recommendations from the guide for fire protection in electric vehicle charging areas in enclosed car parks, a live topic as electric mobility grows.
