In 1978, the image of Barcelona’s outskirts changed forever. Manolo Vital, a bus driver, occupied the line 47 bus to expose a lie the City Council kept repeating: buses could not climb the slopes of Torre Baró because the streets were too narrow and unsafe. This act of peaceful dissent and neighbourhood mobilisation became a catalyst for change — an example of how people take pride in their roots and of the working class that helped build modern Barcelona in the 1970s. It belongs to the thematic cycle Migrations of Tiempos de Cine — the CaixaForum Film Club — alongside West Side Story (Robert Wise, 1961, USA) and Minari (Lee Isaac Chung, 2020, USA).
