The show opens with a short introduction and an oral explanation from the puppeteer, placing Antoni Maria Alcover and the importance of Mallorcan _rondalles_ in context. The tale follows the misadventures of a young man who keeps wasting the meat his wife needs to sell to earn a living. The piece keeps the essentials of the story: Pere’s cunning, humour, social critique… in an accessible, playful language. Changing scenes (house, market, cemetery…) are built with different props and mobile sets. At the end there is a dialogue with the children about what they understood and how they would have acted, plus a reflection on oral tradition and what it means to be cunning or fair.
