Award-winning cuatrista, mandolinist and music producer Jorge Glem — Latin Grammy winner and Grammy nominee — is one of Venezuela’s great musical treasures. Raised in Cumaná and now based in the USA, he has dedicated himself passionately to sharing the Venezuelan cuatro while exploring rhythms from around the world. His talent and clear purpose have led him to solo cuatro concertos with acclaimed musicians such as conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the SF Symphony, and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. He has also shared stages with world figures including Paquito D’Rivera, Jordan Rudess, Rubén Blades and Carlos Vives, fusing the sounds of this traditional instrument with jazz, salsa, bluegrass, rock and pop. Expect a full evening on Mallorca’s live circuit: arrive a little early, check door times on the ticket, and give yourself room to settle in before the first notes.
